Pen plotter

We have a Bantam Tools NextDraw 2234 pen plotter, which is usually set up in Foster B10 when it is not being used in a high school. Its primary use is in the introductory MWC1 course, where students use the pen plotter to realize their drawings as physical artifacts.

Connecting to the plotter

You can connect to the plotter directly over USB, using the Bantam Tools CLI and Python bindings.

Software

We use the Superturtle library in MWC to programically create plotter art and export as SVG for plotting. vpype is recommended for post-processing.
