1. Course overview

• Welcome to LAI 516: Infrastructure for K12 CS. Sorry to be getting the course started a few days late.
• Course content focuses on the idea of Infrastructure. Goal: understand the context of your practice; lead in design. We'll discuss four layers of infrastructure:
  • Standards
  • Curricula
  • Media
  • Implementations
• Course structure: Twice-weekly meetings on Zoom. The only written assignments are quick sheets for media.
• To-do items now:
  1. Please fill out this When2Meet with your weekly availability.
  2. Read the NY CS&DF Standards by early next week.
  3. Watch the Week 1b video on Scratch.

CST review

• Read: The guide's introduction, "About the test," and "Study plan," including the gap tables.
• Practice: Take a diagnostic: 30 unseen items across competencies 0001-0004, about 45 minutes. Use the results to mark which sections you can skim.
• Connection: Set up the review alongside the course overview.
